Project Reveal: Fox Point Bungalow

Welcome to this charming Fox Point bungalow. The house had great bones, we just brought in more natural light, integrated storage with custom millwork, and tied it all together with classic finishes. The result is a truly beautiful retreat—the kind of space you look forward to coming home to all day.

Our scope for this project included designing the primary bedroom, bathroom and closet, creating a truly cohesive upstairs retreat. While the home already had great character, introducing natural lighting, custom millwork, and integrated storage completely changed how the space feels and functions. Every decision was made to create a home that feels calm, welcoming, and easy to live in.

Let’s start with the primary bath. Our client wanted more light; adding the skylight not only brightened the space, but also made all the other finishes and materials truly shine. Warm white oak, soft brass and classic headboard make everything feel timeless and fresh. The soft blue tile in the shower perfectly compliments the dusty blue throughout the bedroom. We love when one small detail, like the color of tile, can carry throughout a design and tie it all together.

Storage was a priority in this bathroom, so we incorporated custom built-ins beside the shower and above the tub. Keeping everyday essentials tucked away allows the room to feel calm and uncluttered, while the open shelving creates space for baskets, greenery, and a few collected pieces that make the room feel lived in.

We particularly loved how the penny tile flooring, shower ledge and vintage-inspired rug work together to create a soft, layered palette. Individually they’re subtle, but together they bring warmth and character to the space.

Our favorite feature of the primary bedroom is the custom millwork in the built-ins and seat, framing the window and creating the perfect window nook. Designed as a space to unwind, it’s just as inviting for slow mornings with coffee as it is for evenings curled up with a book. We carried this soft, dusty blue throughout the built-ins, window treatments and bedding and shower tile to create a sense of continuity throughout.
