Door County Retreat

Nestled along the shoreline, this Sturgeon Bay family retreat was reimagined to honor the character of the original home while creating spaces for gathering, slowing down and making memories.

Inspired by the surrounding landscape, the design layers warm wood tones, painted millwork, natural textures, and timeless materials to create a home that feels both relaxed and refined. Throughout the project, thoughtful updates improved functionality while preserving the charm that made the property special

The kitchen was transformed with custom cabinetry in a rich olive green, unlacquered brass accents, and classic detailing that feels at home against the backdrop of the lake. In the bathrooms, handcrafted tile, tailored millwork, and carefully selected fixtures bring a sense of quiet luxury without sacrificing practicality.

The living spaces were designed for connection. A stone fireplace anchors the great room, while layered textiles, vintage-inspired rugs, and collected furnishings create an atmosphere that invites conversation long after the sun sets over the water.

From morning coffee in the kitchen to evenings spent gathered around the fireplace, every design decision was guided by the way the family lives, entertains, and enjoys time together. The result is a home that feels deeply personal, welcoming, and built to be enjoyed for generations.
